Parent/Child: Water Babies | age 6-24 months w/adult

Parent/Child: Water Babies introduces your infant/toddler to the water while teaching you techniques to safely orient them to this new environment. We will focus on kicks, floats, and submersion. You can expect a lot of songs and splashing while your child explores the water. 

Requirements: 

  • Child must be at least 6 months old to enroll
  • Parent or caregiver must accompany each child in the water and participate in each class
  • Children should wear swim diapers 

Learning objectives: 

  • Water entrance/exit by lifting in
  • Front and back flutter kick with parent 
  • Holding techniques 
  • Bubbles 
  • Front and back float 
  • Treading water arms with parent 
  • Underwater exploration 
  • Signs of a distressed / drowning infant 
  • Life jacket safety 
  • Rolling from front to back in a life jacket
  • Monkey crawl on the wall with parent 
  • Front crawl arms (ice cream scoops) 
  • Safety Skills for Parents

Fall classes will open for registration on August 15th at 8:00 am.
