Dim Sum is a Chinese or Cantonese meal of small appetizers or finger foods traditionally enjoyed in restaurants. It is considered a shared dining and social experience that can last for hours. Dim Sum often includes some variety of dumpling, and one of the most popular options is pot stickers! Join Tess as she guides you through the step-by-step process of creating delicious pot stickers with homemade wrappers and a wonderful dipping sauce made from scratch! Choose to make a pork- or chicken-based filling. You will also have the option of learning to make homemade wrappers or using purchased wrappers. Freezing tips will also be shared.
Several days before class, you will receive an email with an ingredient and supply list, prep packet, and Zoom video conferencing link. A few days after the class, you will receive an additional email with the recipes used during the class.
The registration fee covers immediate family members living in the same household only. If children are participating, adult supervision is required.
Tess Georgakopoulos has been cooking since she was roughly six years old -- well over forty years. Born into a Greek family, the art of cooking traditional meals using one's senses rather than recipes and measurements was passed on from one generation to the next. Her father was a trained chef who brought the magic of food to life in another form as they cooked elaborate family meals together. Food prepared from the heart, with one's own hands and creativity, was, and continues to be, an expression of love in her home. As a skilled home-cook and baker, Tess enjoys creating original recipes for her family and friends. She has recently started writing her first cookbook, and has a food blog in the works.
