    You are the lead scientist in charge of exploring alien technology and funky, gooey, gunky, gloppy slimes! In your lab, you’ll discover and explore the properties of a different exciting alien slime each day. As you continue your mission, you will concoct an “erupting” alien, engineer a hovercraft, create your own planetary night lamp, and explore many more fun STEAM activities. Work with your team to design a treasure map where your character finds a diamond trove, survives lava, escapes from dangerous creatures, and so much more.     Seniors who are applying to selective colleges, private colleges, specialized programs, or scholarships often need to write an essay (or multiple essays). Those who delay this task until closer to application due dates often find the process rushed and stressful, undermining the quality of their essays—and their application. Examine the essential elements of the college essay and how to approach a variety of common essay prompts. Through fun brainstorming activities, you will walk away motivated to continue working on your essay drafts before the start of your busy senior year.
  • Common App Bootcamp | entering grade 12

    Seniors planning to apply to multiple colleges, especially if the list includes private or selective colleges, will likely use the Common App. Discover the basics of this program and understand the terminology it uses so you can be confident you are making the correct selections. Bring a laptop to this session as you will be setting up your Common App account. Note: One parent/guardian is welcome to accompany each student. Registration is based on the grade the student has just completed.
  • Engineering: Rube Goldberg Machines | grades 1-5

    Discover the excitement of chain reactions! Design and build amazing moving machines and teach our LEGO® bricks new tricks! With an active imagination as your guide, there are endless possibilities. Work with a partner to learn about physics and engineering concepts such as velocity, projectiles, trajectories, force, and motion. Each day, you'll explore new ways to combine LEGOs to cause different chain reactions and, on the last day, design your own Rube Goldberg Machine.     This camp combines the LEGO® building system's versatility and the Mindstorms EV3 (the most sophisticated microcomputer brick ever made by LEGO®) to bring you an exciting week of robotic fun! Working each day in small teams, you'll construct fascinating LEGO® models, experiment with programs, and compete in robotic challenges. Robot building, block programming, and teamwork will be part of each day's activities. The final challenges will be centered around hitting targets, and a sumo battle.   • Navigating College Admissions: A Guide for Rising Juniors and Families | entering grade 11

    With nearly 4,000 degree-granting colleges and universities in the United States, it can feel overwhelming to identify schools that will best fit a student's academic, social, and economic needs. This session will help rising Juniors and their parent/guardian understand the college application landscape and how to narrow down their college options so they can feel more prepared for application season next fall. Participants will come away with a College Planning Timeline and tools to manage the process. Registration includes student and one parent/guardian.
  • Pokémania STEAM Adventure | grades K-4

    Work on a stop-motion animated Pokémon-themed film! Pick your favorite characters to star in your mini-movie and build Pokémon-inspired sets and props to create an animated game and stop-motion short.
