  • Creative Connections: Writing Styles & Visual Arts | grades 3-5

    Get your creativity flowing with our Creative Connections Course! We will combine drawing, inking, painting, and unconventional tools and techniques to design unique art pieces. While waiting for the paint to dry we will do activities, play games, and use brainstorming techniques to create stories and poems. Be prepared to dig deep and discover your passion for creative thinking! *** Registering for a morning and an afternoon class at the same location? Join the "Lunch Bunch!" Community Education will provide a supervised hour between classes for you to enjoy the lunch you brought from home, then will get you to your afternoon class. Lunches should be nut-free and should include a beverage. No resources are available for refrigeration or to heat lunches, so plan accordingly. Parents/Guardians: Please answer "Yes" to the Lunch Bunch question when registering for the morning class. There is no charge, but we need to know who is staying with us for the hour. ***
  • Dance: Ballet and Lyrical Fusion | grades K-4

    Introduce your elementary-aged dancer to the elegance of ballet and the beauty of lyrical dance. In this three-session summer class, students will explore graceful movements, storytelling through dance, and creative expression in a supportive and fun environment. Dancers should wear a leotard and tights, or shorts or leggings and a close-fitting t-shirt or top.

    Little dancers will twirl, leap, and shine in this fun and energetic blend of ballet and jazz, perfect for introducing preschoolers to the joy of movement, creativity, and music. This three-session summer series is ideal for beginners ready to explore and express themselves!
  • Dance: Hip-Hop and Jazz Fusion | grades K-4

    Elementary-aged dancers, get ready to move! This high-energy class combines hip-hop and jazz for a fun, dynamic introduction to dance. Over three exciting sessions, students will learn cool moves, build confidence, and groove to upbeat music! Dancers should wear a leotard and tights, or shorts or leggings and a close-fitting t-shirt or top.
  • Juggling and Object Manipulation Workshop | age 10+

    Part 1: Letting Go In this section, students will learn the basics of toss juggling using one to three objects, as well as explore tricks using a single ball. Together, the class will examine the curious question: What is a “trick”? Students will collaborate in groups to create juggling sequences, develop original tricks, and share their discoveries with others. Part 2: Balance as Action This part of the class introduces students to the fundamentals of actively balancing one or more objects. They will explore the question: How does balance relate to a “trick”? By the end of the session, students will create and present an expressive piece that shares what you discover. Note: Wear closed toed shoes and comfortable clothes you can move around in.

    Tumble, dance, and pose your way through this active learning experience. We will combine elements of ballet, jazz, tap, tumbling, yoga, and meditation into a whirlwind of fun that will teach your child new ways to process and express their emotions and energy in a challenging, fun, and safe way! *** Registering for a morning and an afternoon class at the same location?   • Storybook Theatre: Three Little Pigs | grades 1-12

    The Town of New Piggleton is well known for its Annual Bar-B-Que contest, and Granny Pig wins every year! But this year, Sheriff Crooks is determined to steal Granny’s recipe from her three grandkids so they can’t enter the competition! Meanwhile, Mama Pig is sick and tired of her home being treated like a stye, so it’s time for Corky, Porky, and Slim to get gone! Mama Pig hires the Hay Farmers, Lumberjacks, and Brick Layers to build each of her piggies their own house. Will Sheriff Crooks and his deputies steal the recipe and the competition, or will the Three Little Pigs prevail by the hair on their chinny chin chins and win this year’s contest? Auditions: Monday, 4:30-6:30 pm. Parents should plan to stay until 5pm for program information. Rehearsals: Tue-Thurs, 4:30-8:45 pm. There is a dinner break halfway through each rehearsal. Please pack a meal each day. Performances: Friday, 7:30 pm and Saturday, 11:00 am. A third show may be added depending on the number of participants. Note: No refund will be given to any participant who auditions, receives a part, and then withdraws from the production.
