Action research is a form of investigation designed to attempt to solve problems and improve professional practices. It involves systematic observations and data collection which can then be used by the practitioner-researcher in reflections and decision-making. Discover the features of action research and how the information can be directly applied to answer questions and solve problems in collaboration with others in your specific professional context. Come away with the ability to develop an action research plan to collect and analyze data and determine findings. This course is included in the Statistics for Decision-Making course.
Mary Dereshiwsky is an expert in online teaching and the creator of the online teaching technique of "continuous engagement." She is a professor at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona, where she teaches graduate courses online. She has taught other instructors how to teach online for over 5 years.
Jeff Kritzer has experience as a quantitative researcher and Special Education Resource Teacher. He has been published in several international and national journals and has developed unique methods for presenting his research. He has a Ph.D. in Education and is currently a Professor in Teacher Education at a leading midwestern university.
