This class offers children an engaging exploration of various yoga styles, poses, stories, and games in a nurturing and inclusive environment. Each session begins and ends with dedicated time for breathing techniques, empowering children to manage many types of feelings. The class revolves around a thematic approach, guiding the children through seated and standing poses that can be modified for seated chair poses as needed. Each session concludes with a brief meditation and the introduction of a mantra for children to carry with them beyond the class. Participants should wear appropriate athletic attire and bring a water bottle.
Patty's love for yoga began during a period of transition and challenge in her life. She found yoga and experienced an instant sense of peace. Yoga, which means union, facilitates a powerful connection between body and mind. Through the physical practice, Patty cultivated inner serenity, a transformation that profoundly impacted her. She started to bring yoga into her daycare and noticed what a positive impact it has on the children. She observed firsthand the remarkable calming effect it had, particularly in moments of distress or anxiety. Simply guiding them to breathe mindfully often diffused their tension almost instantly. Patty has her Children’s Yoga Teacher Certification and has been practicing yoga for 4 years.
