This workshop is designed for college-bound students and their parents who are concerned about the rising cost of tuition and are seeking effective strategies to reduce these expenses. From scholarships to dual enrollment, we will explore common and lesser-known methods for reducing college costs. The workshop aims to provide practical advice and dispel common myths, helping families plan for the transition to post-secondary education with confidence.

Hughes Consulting LLC - Shelly Hughes

Shelly Hughes is a licensed School Counselor in the State of MN, holding a master's degree in Educational Psychology and Counseling from the University of MN. In her career, spanning over 25 years, Shelly has worked in higher education, private, and secondary settings providing guidance to students with academic, college, and career planning. Ms. Hughes has specialized interest and experience in supporting students with mental health concerns, disabilities, and executive function challenges and understands how these factors impact post-secondary planning. The mother of three teens/young adults, Ms. Hughes has navigated the high school/college years from the perspective of a parent as well as an educator.
