Social Media for Business Certificate

This course will teach you how social networks can be used to develop a two-way communication and marketing strategy for your business or organization. You'll find out what you can be and should be doing in this space, as well as develop a complete plan to effectively integrate social networks into your existing communication and marketing efforts.

Registering for this certificate program will automatically enroll you in the three required courses: Introduction to Social Media, Integrating Social Media in Your Organization, and Marketing Using Social Media.

Jo-Carolyn Goode is a Texas native and a graduate of Prairie View A&M University. Working her way from editorial intern to managing editor of Houston Style Magazine, she honed her communication talents and has added an online portal and social media channels to increase the magazine's exposure. She is also the producer of the popular YouTube show, "It's National Day."

Melissa Torres


Melissa Torres is a creative marketing specialist with a focus in social media strategies and special events. She is passionate about helping small business owners build their brand and customer loyalty. Melissa also works as a recreation professional and builds annual marketing campaigns to attract locals and tourists to participate in summer camps that generate over a million dollars in revenue each year.

Travette Webster


Travette A. Webster serves as LERN’s Director of Communications and comes with an abundance of experience successfully promoting continuing education and lifelong learning programs through various social mediums. For over 15 years, she has worked with individuals and organizations to create and publish content on various social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, Snapchat, Tik Tok, and many others. Through robust social media engagement, Travette has helped companies to identify and grow market segments, build brand awareness, and increase customer conversion. She holds a Master of Business Administration from Prairie View A&M University, with an additional focus on Organizational Design and Behavior.
