Screening is an early look at a child's development and begins as early as age three. The state of Minnesota requires screening for every child before kindergarten entry into a public school. ISD 728 offers this service at no cost.

In this practical typography course, you’ll learn the fundamental principles that make designs both visually appealing and effective. Explore the history and anatomy of type, including font eras and classifications, to understand how typography has evolved. You’ll discover how to select the right fonts for any project and master typographic hierarchy, contrast, and clarity.
The course also covers essential spacing techniques—kerning, tracking, and leading—so your text is always legible and polished. Through hands-on exercises, you’ll practice aligning typography with overall design goals, whether for print or digital media.
By the end of the course, you’ll have the skills and confidence to choose the perfect type for any project, creating work that is both visually stunning and functionally effective.
This course is included in the Graphic Design Foundation Certificate course.
