In this course, you’ll gain a strong foundation in color theory and learn how to apply it with confidence. Discover how to:

Build harmonious and impactful color schemes

Balance contrast, saturation, and tone for maximum visual effect

Through hands-on exercises, you’ll practice selecting the perfect palettes and applying color with purpose. By the end of the course, you’ll be equipped to use color not just decoratively, but strategically—transforming your designs into powerful visual experiences.

This course is included in the Graphic Design Foundation Certificate course.

Pre-requisite: Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop

Andy Helmi

Andy Helmi is a multidisciplinary graphic and web designer, technical consultant, and online marketing specialist based in Vancouver, BC, Canada. His diverse educational background spans over a decade of academic training in electronic and computer engineering, graphic and web design, music, typography, and digital photography. Andy began his career in digital media in 1996. Since then, he has worked with several companies and has continuously operated his own freelance design business. A passionate educator, Andy is an Adobe Certified Instructor and holds a BC Instructional Skills certification. He has designed and delivered courses and programs for a range of institutions, including the Vancouver School Board, Vancouver Community College, Langara College, Vancouver College of Art and Design, and Kwantlen Polytechnic University.
