AI Essentials for Parents

This session helps parents understand how AI is being used in ISD 728 classrooms. Participants will explore district guidance and expectations, see real classroom examples, and discuss how to support healthy, responsible AI use with their children at school and home. Parents will also preview practical AI tools, examine current trends affecting students, and learn the importance of data privacy and human judgment in an AI-driven world.

Instructors

Troy Anderson

Director of Instructional Technology at ISD728. He leads the Online and Digital Learning Specialists, overseeing professional development and online learning initiatives. Troy holds an A.A. from Bemidji State University, a B.A. from Winona State University, and a Master’s in Instructional Technology from St. Cloud State University.


Pamela Beckermann

Digital Learning Specialist at ISD728. Pam leads and supports teachers in information media and digital learning, enhancing instruction, professional growth, and innovative classroom practices. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Education and a master’s degree in Information Media from St. Cloud State University.


Tyrone Schmidt

Digital Learning Specialist who supports teachers in using technology and artificial intelligence to enhance student learning. Tyrone helps staff choose and use tools that make lessons more engaging, efficient, and personalized for students. Tyrone is passionate about helping families understand how AI can safely and positively support their child’s education.
