Introduction to Game Design

Discover resources for developing game design and identify the mechanics and verbs used in different games. You will learn the different activities that are part of game design, being able to flesh out a game idea in order to increase the chances to having a successful game design experience, and have a basic understanding of how to work with game developers. 

This course is included in the Certificate in Basic Game Design course.

Jean Haefner


Jean Haefner hold degrees in graphic design and photography, and has an MFA in Web Design and Interactive Media. She has taught in these areas, and worked as a content artist, web designer, and online course developer for over 20 years. She helped to develop the award-winning interdisciplinary Game Design and Development program at UW-Stout, and provided instruction in art and design for games there. She currently works at UW-Madison.
