  • FIRST LEGO League Discover | ages 4-6

    FIRST® LEGO® League Discover serves the youngest of three age groups of the FIRST® LEGO® League program. The program inspires young people to experiment and grow their confidence, critical thinking, and design skills through hands-on learning using DUPLO® bricks. This season's theme is "Dive Below the Surface!" During the ocean-inspired 2024-2025 FIRST® season, FIRST® DIVESM presented by Qualcomm, teams will use their STEM and collaboration skills to explore life beneath the surface of the ocean. In the SUBMERGEDSM challenge, teams will bring their ideas to the surface as they "sea" into the future.
  • FIRST Tech Challenge | grades 7-12

    This is way more than building robots! Besides using and developing STEM skills, you'll practice engineering principles (such as keeping an engineering notebook), share ideas, and learn to think creatively. FIRST Tech Challenge teams will design build, program, and operate robots with a head-to-head challenge in an alliance format. Participants call it "the hardest fun you will ever have!" Guided by adult coaches and mentors, your team will also design and market a team brand and do community outreach. Teams will compete in one scrimmage, three league meets, and one league qualifier, with the possibility of advancing to the State competition. Tournament Dates: Fall session: January 19, 2025 Winter session: March 22, 2025 We are looking for 3 parent coaches. As a coach, you will be responsible for guiding 4-6 students. Hub resources and mentors are available to provide guidance to new teams. Additionally, you will receive a 20% discount on your child's registration fee.   • FIRST LEGO League Challenge | grades 4-6

    FIRST is more than robots! FLLC is a competitive, team-based program that works with the LEGO Mindstorm product to build and program robots made from scratch. Work together as a team to perform point-scoring missions and develop solutions to real-life problems while having fun building LEGO models and robots! The season runs September through December. Teams compete in Northwest Metro Robotics hub scrimmage events and a qualifier tournament with the potential to further advance in competition. Enjoy over 60 hours of STEM fun! Tournament Dates: Fall session: December 15, 2024 Winter session: March 22, 2025 We are looking for 8 parents to serve as coaches. As a coach, you will be responsible for guiding a team of 4-6 students. Hub resources and mentors are available to provide guidance to new teams.   • FIRST LEGO League Explore | grades K-3

    FIRST LEGO League Explore is more than robots! Work with others on a team to create a plan around a given concept, design a poster, and build a motorized LEGO model that shows your ideas and what you've learned. You'll present your work at the end-of-the-season expo. The season runs September through January. Enjoy over 30 hours of STEM fun! Tournament Dates: Fall session: January 11, 2025 Winter session: March 22, 2025 We are looking for 10 parents to serve as coaches. As a coach, you will be responsible for guiding a team of 4-6 students. Hub resources and mentors are available to provide guidance to new teams.
