  • Ceramics: Clay Exploration | grades 4-8

    Get the feel of working with clay! Experiment with a variety of methods, including hand building, coil, slab, and wheel throwing - techniques that guarantee success for every level of artist. Complete your design using one of many glazing options for the finishing touch. Projects can be functional, sculptural, or decorative. Please wear old clothing to the class, as working with clay is incredibly rewarding but can be messy. We want you to fully enjoy the experience without worrying about your clothes. Project Pick-up: Completed projects will be fired in the kiln and made available for pick-up one week after the last class. This allows us to ensure that your creations are properly finished and ready for you to take home.

  • Clay Sampler: Pottery for Youth | age 9-16

    Get your hands dirty and your creative juices flowing! Our 4-week wheel-throwing workshop will introduce you to the basics of creating pottery on the wheel. With thorough direction from our instructor, you'll discover the excitement of watching your piece develop at your fingertips! Glaze your finished piece with your choice of colors. All projects will be fired and available for pick-up one week after the last class. Reserve your spot today to sculpt, shape, and create!
  • CraftMania | ages 5-10

    Discover how much fun it is to turn different crafting materials into pieces of art. We’ll make a clay pinch pot, a wooden trinket box, a paper mache bird, a tie-dye T-shirt, and other exciting crafty projects. By the end of camp, you'll be a "Craft-Maniac!" Please bring a white T-shirt, and dress for getting creative (messy). Please bring a nut-free snack, a water bottle, and recess attire. *** Registering for a morning and an afternoon class at the same location? Join the "Lunch Bunch!" Community Education will provide a supervised hour between classes for you to enjoy the lunch you brought from home, then will get you to your afternoon class. Lunches should be nut-free and should include a beverage. No resources are available for refrigeration or to heat lunches, so plan accordingly. Parents/Guardians: please answer "Yes" to the Lunch Bunch question when registering for the morning class. There is no charge, but we need to know who is staying with us for the hour. ***
  • Designing Dreams: A Camp for Creative Kids! | age 7-11

    Let’s get artsy! We will make eight different crafts focusing on four elements of design: color, line, texture, and form. Try your hand at some trendy projects such as yarn wall hangings and some ancient projects such as repousse. Each day you will leave with two projects handmade by you! Please bring a nut-free snack and a beverage each day. Decorate a dozen cookies with colorful frosting and an array of sprinkles, and, best of all, you'll take your tasty creations home in a protective box to share or savor all to yourself. Join us for a deliciously delightful experience where the only limit is your imagination!
  • Rock Painting | grades K-5

    Grab your friends and join us for some rock painting! We'll each create 10 painted rocks using paint pens so you can be as detailed as you like. We will have some ideas for designs, but you can bring your own as well. Take the rocks home to display in your room, in a rock bed in your yard, or have some fun and hide them around town! • Parents/Guardians: Please send permission to school informing staff that your student will be staying after for a Community Education activity. Students will check in with EdVenture Club after school. Westwood students will check in at the cafeteria. PLEASE NOTE - without a written note sent with your student, the school might not allow them to stay after and may send them home via their regular routine. • Pick-Up: All students will be picked up from EdVenture Club immediately following class; Westwood students will be picked up from the cafeteria.

    Have fun making art that truly rocks! We will create, paint, bake, and crack open some rocks. Go home with geodes that you made, a friendly rock pet, some cool marble coasters, and even some magnets! You don’t want to miss out on this art adventure.     Learn to create awesome sugar cookies using royal icing in this super fun workshop! Discover cool decorating techniques such as outlining, flooding, and making fancy designs. Add sparkling sprinkles, edible pearls, and other tasty decorations to make your cookies absolutely amazing! 12/16/24 class: Grades 5-8. 12/21/24 9:30am class: Parent/Child class for ages 3+. Register using child's name. If more than one child is attending per family, please select the correct registration fee from the drop-down menu.
