  • 3-Day Horse Camp | age 6-17

    Experience everyday life at a barn, including activities such as daily riding, grooming and caring for the horses (including bathing and feeding), and learning how to braid manes and tails with ribbon. Spend time outdoors and build lasting friendships with fellow horse lovers in a structured and positive environment. Campers will be grouped with others of similar riding experience. Riding takes about 1 hour per day in an arena (no trails) and consists of learning how to steer, stop, turn and walk/trot on their own. Wear long pants, closed-toed shoes (no flip-flops!), and appropriate clothes for weather inside and outside of the barn. Bring sunscreen, a hat, bug spray, a water bottle, snacks and a lunch each day. You can also bring treats for the horses if you want. Helmets are provided.     AeroCode Academy is the most exciting way to learn how to program! Using block-based programming tools to command your drone, you will sharpen your skills as you take to the skies. We'll start with guided tutorials, then implement our own custom programs. Form teams to battle your drones in fun and exciting challenges while you learn valuable 21st-century programming, teamwork, and collaboration skills.     Do you want to amaze your friends and impress your opponents? Increase your IQ while having fun playing chess and competing for prizes! Learn from Twin Cities Chess Club instructors who have years of teaching experience. Competitive chess tournaments are scheduled once a year and students can play for real chess trophies! All chess levels are welcome.

    Do you have a special doggo in your life? Let's celebrate them and their special friendship! Create dog toys, a blanket, some snackies, a portrait, a keychain and more to take home to your furry best friend. Your pet's participation will be needed (at home) one of the days to create a craft to commemorate your friendship.     Welcome to Monster Mash, the spooktacular class where you'll embark on a journey of Halloween fun and creativity! We'll have a thrilling time as we play Halloween bingo for exciting prizes, decorate rice krispy treats, pin the spider on the web, and paint miniature pumpkins. Every ghoul and goblin is welcome to join in on the fun! Parents/Guardians: Please send permission to school informing staff that your student will be staying after for a Community Education activity. Westwood students attending an afterschool class at Zimmerman Elementary also need to call the Westwood attendance office 24 hours in advance of the class with this information. Transportation: Westwood students will take the EdVenture Club bus from Westwood to Zimmerman Elementary; they will check in at the Zimmerman Elementary EdVenture Club site. Pick-up: All students will be picked up from EdVenture Club immediately following class.
