Led by an experienced instructor with a passion for the art form, this class will introduce students to the basics of anime drawing and help them develop their own unique anime style.

    Summer isn't complete until there are popsicles! Join us for a fun and creative painting class where you will learn how to paint delicious-looking popsicles on canvas with acrylic paints! Learn basic painting techniques and how to mix colors to create vibrant popsicles in every hue.
  • Clay Sampler: Family Clay Sampler | age 2+ w/adult

    Share the experience and tactile joy of working with clay as a family! Explore various techniques such as hand building, coil, slab, and wheel throwing -- approachable methods that ensure success for artists of all skill levels. Add the perfect finishing touch to your creations with a wide range of glazing options. Whether your project is functional, sculptural, or purely decorative, there's room for creativity. Please wear old clothing to the class, as working with clay is incredibly rewarding but can be messy. We want you to fully enjoy the experience without worrying about your clothes. Register just one family member. Maximum of 4 students/youth per adult. Project Pick-up: Completed projects will be fired in the kiln and made available for pick-up one week after the last class. This allows us to ensure that your creations are properly finished and ready for you to take home.
  • Clay Sampler: Pottery for Youth | age 9-16

    Get your hands dirty and your creative juices flowing! Our 4-week wheel-throwing workshop will introduce you to the basics of creating pottery on the wheel. With thorough direction from our instructor, you'll discover the excitement of watching your piece develop at your fingertips! Glaze your finished piece with your choice of colors.     Learn the basics of cartooning and create your own characters! Each day students will learn techniques used in cartooning. Subjects like characteristics, features, exaggeration, action and personification will contribute to our students’ artistic advancement!     Goodbye boredom, hello creativity! Turn your child’s love for art into something extraordinary this season! This class brings fresh and exciting projects. Students will master facial expressions and imaginative storytelling, boosting their confidence and artistic talent. From holiday inspiration to everyday fun, there’s so much to discover—enroll your child now! Parents/Guardians: Please send permission to school informing staff that your student will be staying after for a Community Education activity. Westwood students attending an afterschool class at Zimmerman Elementary also need to call the Westwood attendance office 24 hours in advance of the class with this information. Transportation: Westwood students will take the EdVenture Club bus from Westwood to Zimmerman Elementary; they will check in at the Zimmerman Elementary EdVenture Club site. Pick-up: All students will be picked up from EdVenture Club immediately following class. NOTE - without a written note sent with your student, the school might not allow him/her to stay after and might send them home via their regular routine.
